All Smarties are not created equal

"When you eat your Smarties, do you eat the red ones last?"

Mark asked me this question a few weeks ago. I looked at him like he was nuts, because everyone knows there aren't any red Smarties. Or so I thought. Apparently, the little powdery sugar bombs I've been eating all my life are only "Smarties" in the U.S. Elsewhere, they're called "Rockets". Why? Because "Smarties" EVERYWHERE ELSE are these little gems, which are pretty much just M&Ms with a thicker, sweeter candy coating. I have to say, I prefer the chocolate Smarties.

I think I might move to Canada. Theirs look much better. But ours did help me pass one of my college finals by keeping me awake.

When you eat your Smarties,
Do you eat the red ones last?
Do you suck them very slowly,
Or crunch them very fast?
Eat that candy-coated chocolate,
But tell me when I ask,
When you eat your Smarties,
Do you eat the red ones last?

and
Do you know exactly how to eat an Oreo?
Well, to do it
you unscrew it
very fast.
Cuz a kid'll eat the middle of an Oreo first
And save the chocolate cookie outside for last.

The 'not American' Smarties are also called Sprees here in the good old U.S. of A.

Actually, no. Sprees are kind of sour sugary things. The non-US smarties are chocolate. They look the same, though.

Why does this world have to be so cruel as to make divisive lines between cultures? I mean can't we all just have peace and unity? I think it's just a constant reminder that nationality can be dangerous if taken too seriously. It all begins with candy then next thing you know we are war because we can't agree on whether it's football or soccer, sneakers or trainers.
Please tell me Pez are Pez. Pez begins with P.E. just like PEACE. Unity through PEZ!
I've obviously lost my mind.
By the way just bought my tickets for ALO at the belly up in August. I CAN NOT believe you won't be here to experience it. ARRG! I hate that.
PEACE THROUGH PEZ :) Nicole
